Digital Film Alumnus Hopes to Spread Positivity with His Work
Michael Shuman says he wanted to attend a school where he could learn the techniques he needed to be successful in the field of digital film and grow his professional network, all within a flexible schedule. He chose to enroll at Broadview Entertainment Arts University (BEAU), and he says it provided him with all this and many other great opportunities.
“Between real-world experience and the chance to be as involved as I desired, I was in the perfect place,” says Michael. “The necessary equipment is available to students upon request, the instructors are very knowledgeable in the field they teach, and the hands-on work for real companies such as ABC and Talking Pictures Productions has prepared me for the field.”
In addition to the resources BEAU provided to help him succeed, Michael particularly liked the creativity of everyone at BEAU.
“The creative community at BEAU is phenomenal,” he says. “Students and teachers alike are always willing to volunteer their time to create the best pieces of work that they can, making BEAU within itself a virtual masterpiece.”
Michael says he would recommend BEAU to anyone who is looking for a worthwhile educational experience in the arts industry.
“The tools are there to succeed at BEAU. They have the equipment, the experience, the teachers, and all [students] would need to bring with them is their never-ending passion and desire to succeed,” Michael says. “I’ve had the opportunity to network with many production companies and amazing artists. That alone was worth the journey.”
Michael’s journey continues as he currently works on television shows, does event photography and has produced and directed his own short film. He says he hopes to use his work to make a difference.
“I am very passionate about inciting positive change throughout the world,” he explains. “There seems to be way too much negativity in the world, and not enough kindness and charity. Through my works and the medium of film, I work to pass positive messages and compelling stories.”
