Nationally touring band hellogoodbye put on an acoustic concert at BEAU prior to their sold-out show with Bastille. Lead singer Forrest Kline played for students, staff and the local community in a first of its kind event for the university. The acoustic concert was organized with local radio station X 96 and kicked off the stations 7th Annual Nightmare Before X-Mas Concert.
Originating in Huntington Beach, California, hellogoodbye got its start with Drive-Thru Records and later spent time with LAB Records. The band received the most notoriety for their lead single from their debut album Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!, titled ‘Here (In Your Arms)’.
Hellogoodbye recently released the album Everything Is Debatable in October of 2013. After a tour with Paramore and Metric in 2013, the band is set to start their own headlining tour sometime in 2014.
The opportunity to host a nationally touring band is not lost on the campus. “The ability to showcase a premier band like hellogoodbye to our students, staff and the local community is huge,” says BEAU Director of Career Services Peter Tomala. “As an arts university, we are looking to grow and cultivate the local music scene and bringing bands to the school will bring more attention to what the industry is all about.”
X 96 and BEAU recorded an interview with Forrest Kline in BEAU’s recording studio as well. Stay up to date with BEAU’s Facebook for the complete segment.
