It’s All Fun and Games at BEAU (on Wednesday Nights, at Least)
With so many tests, class assignments and other life responsibilities, sometimes students just need to let loose. For that matter, even non-students need the opportunity to unwind. That’s the idea between BEAU’s Game Night. Every Wednesday night at 7:30, students, teachers and community members get together and play games.
Game Night is all about getting together with other people who enjoy games of all types, having a good time, and building community, friendships and camaraderie. Anyone can attend and all abilities, interests and ages are welcome. Attempts will be made to accommodate every player or try and find a way to include them.
It’s easy to fit in though, with every type of game being played. Whether it is video games, board games, card games, or table-top games, any and all types of games are encouraged and invited.
BEAU hosts game night because of the strong connection between games and the college. Game Night is a pure embodiment of what BEAU is. It’s all about cooperation, collaboration, growth and fun. We’re all here to learn and to grow from others, and from testing and pushing ourselves as well. What better way than to do so while collaborating with others and having a great time?
As board games continue to stay in popularity today, people will seek ways to come together in a causal environment. It’s a chance to meet other people, have fun and test your wits in a relaxing yet engaging setting. With the constant rise of video and board games, BEAU hopes to carry on the tradition of Game Night.
We’d love to see it grow beyond all belief. More people, more involvement. We’d love to see ourselves as the host of pre-releases for games, video games, competitive card games, and grow beyond what even BEAU as a whole can support. BEAU could become the go-to game place on Wednesday nights. It would be great to work in conjunction with local game stores to build an ever-expanding sense of community and involvement with everyone around us.
