Sundance Film Festival: Students Get to Work with Industry Pros

sundance As the Sundance Film Festival inches closer, Utah will soon become the focal point of thousands of aspiring filmmakers who will descend on the mountain landscape of beautiful Park City in an effort to expand their careers in entertainment.

This year Power & Industry will play host, with BEAU as a chief sponsor, to what has become one of the most popular Lounges during the Sundance Film Festival–the Independent Film Makers Lounge. Developed in 2010, the Lounge boasts its third year as a premier destination for A-list celebrities and B-list entertainers to escape the hectic hustle and bustle of Festival life.

Located on Park City’s Main Street, the Independent Film Makers Lounge offers gourmet catering, live entertainment, film press junkets, and celebrity meet-and-greets. The hospitality of the Lounge, it’s unique film forums, and award-winning staff add to the founding principles that have made the “Indie” Lounge rank in a class of its own.

Daniel Thompson, Visionary for Power & Industry said, “The opportunity to meet so many great and talented people is what Sundance is all about. The Lounge is the perfect platform to meet and greet everyone you can.”

concerts at sundanceA new concert series, Concerts at Sundance, will feature local and international artists’ performances to benefit the Huntsman Cancer Institute.  The annual music festival will take place during the Sundance Film Festival, Jan. 17-26, 2013, with a portion of tickets and donations to go toward fighting cancer.

BEAU will be a sponsor and have a presence at the concerts, giving students and staff a chance to work with industry professionals from the music and entertainment business.  Our students from the music production and engineering and music and entertainment business programs will get a first-hand look at how a show works from beginning to end.

Students can have the chance to work at both the Independent Film Makers Lounge and Concerts at Sundance. Contact Bob at 801-300-4317 for more info.
