Through BEAU’s Visual Design (BFA) program, you can gain the knowledge, technical proficiency and professional competency you need for a successful visual arts career in the media production and entertainment industries. Once you complete your foundational courses in visual design, you’ll choose from one of four specializations. By taking classes full-time at 15 credits per quarter, year-round, you can earn your BFA in Visual Design in as little as three years.*
Learn basic camera movements; operations and shots used in studio shooting; action line use and implementation; digital video camcorder care and maintenance; importance of video logs; interpretation of storyboards into camera shots; and movements and basic editing techniques.
Create concept art—the characters and worlds that serve as game foundations. Study how to represent your ideas through various 2D and 3D means as you develop concept art for your own game idea.
Learn basic idea development using scripting software and writing techniques, including how to import scripts into storyboarding software. Learn basic drawing skills and shot composition and other visual mediums, such as sequential art and animation.
Learn basic drawing skills and techniques with a focus on shapes, forms, light and dark and shading so you can judge proportion, space, depth, form and composition.
