If you’ve been up to the fourth floor library recently, you would know that BEAU has a new addition to its team. The Salt Lake Campus is very lucky to have Amber Ard who, when not doing presentations, correcting addenda, or running the library, can also be found helping students in the Academic Resource Center. When asked to give us a little bit of information about herself, this is what Amber had to say.
Amber grew up near Portland, Oregon, where she learned to love literature, film, music and art. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University in English, where she emphasized creative writing. After spending “too much time working in the technical world” (as a technical writer and a technical support specialist), she went back to school to gain a Masters in Library Science at the University of North Texas. She has spent the last four and a half years at Eagle Gate College as their campus librarian at the Murray campus and later the Layton campus as well. There she earned the KSL Teacher Feature Award for her work in tutoring, along with three company awards for distinguished service and excellence. Her hobbies include writing, movies, singing, jewelry making, and of course, reading.
