The music and entertainment business world is fast paced and ever changing. To make it in the industry, you need to be flexible, personable and driven. BEAU’s inaugural program chair for the music and entertainment program luckily is just that. Matching practical skills with professional experience, Jason Marty is the perfect person to lead the program.
Jason’s career has spanned a broad range of the music and entertainment business field. His career began as a manager for a video store in California where he learned about video sales and marketing. While managing the video store, he moonlighted as his good friend’s manager in the local music scene. That connection turned into a career changing endeavor that brought Jason to Nashville, a #1 song and platinum album.
After his stint in the Nashville music scene, Jason worked on developing several content ideas with national production teams. He spent over three years at Comcast where he managed the video production and distribution of both the linear and VOD content in the Mountain West region. This included working with over thirty production companies in the creation of commercials, live music, sports programming and original programming. He was also responsible for added value media buys and sponsorships that included; Real Salt Lake, University of Utah, BYU, KSL and the Utah Jazz.
Creative at the heart, he has written and produced an award winning short film, written and produced a song for the Fiesta Bowl and counts his time producing music in Nashville as a favorite memory. Jason recently became a Senior Account Manager at PPBH in Salt Lake City. Jason is very excited to be a part of BEAU and is looking forward to helping students in the program avoid the pitfalls he found along his career and steer graduates to success in the industry.
